HR009: SOP FOR USAGE OF HAND DISINFECTANTS

OBJECTIVE:

  • To lay down the procedure for usage of hand disinfectant solution.

SCOPE:

  • This SOP applies to all employees of Caisa Pharma, including permanent, contractual, trainees, and temporary personnel entering in the Manufacturing area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Human Resource Department (HR):

  • Responsible for maintaining the stock of hand disinfectant.
  • To ensure existence of hand disinfectant in all the change rooms.

 All Employee:

  • All personnel entering the production / store areas shall responsible for hand disinfection.

 DEFINATIONS:

  • Hand disinfection: It is generally defined as the application of an antiseptic agent to the hands to inactivate microorganisms and/or temporarily suppress their growth on living tissue.
  •  Disinfection: The process of eliminating most microorganisms (excluding bacterial spores) from inanimate objects and surfaces, not living tissue.

 PROCEDURE:

  • Use Sterilium as disinfectant from the container as such.

Hand Disinfection Procedure during entry:

  • Spray the disinfectant on the hands by pressing the lever of the disinfectant container.
  • The disinfectant solution shall get sprayed as fine droplets from the spray nozzle.
  • Wet the hands/gloved hands on both front and backside.
  • Rub the hands till hands are dry.
